School Board Minutes 02/20/2014
February 20, 2014
                        
                        A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Nicole Plourde, Louise Valliere, Donald Labrecque, Corinne Cascadden, Bryan Lamirande, Amy Huter, Julie King, Georgia Caron, Tim Forestall, Dan Record, Roland Pinette, Cheryl Pinette, Kara Arsenault, Lisa King, Kelsey L’Heureux, Chris Hammond, and a member of the press.

MINUTES         On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the February 6, 2014 meeting, public and nonpublic sessions. The motion passed unanimously.

WARRANT         On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the warrant dated, February 24, 2014 for the amount of $109,817.99. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.

FINANCIAL REPORT        The Board reviewed and approved the financial report.

COMMENTS                None

JAGS                    Kelsey L’Heureux, Kara Arsenault, and Chris Hammond gave the Board a presentation on how JAGS has helped them with Public Speaking and achieving their goals.
                                        
BOARD MEETINGS  On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the School Board meeting calendar as presented. The motion passed unanimously.

POLICY JLCC             On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the second reading of Policy JLCC – Pediculosis. The motion passed unanimously.

BOARD GOALS             The Board decided to review their goals when all Board members are present.

SUPER’S REPORT  The Superintendent informed the Board of the following issue:

  • Emergency Management Plan
COMMENTS                Nicole Plourde inquired about funding for the SRO (School Resource Officer)

MEMBER BUSINESS Louise Valliere thanked Roland Pinette for the tour at White Mountain Community College during the welding competition.
                        
                                                                                
NON PUBLIC              The Board consensus was that a nonpublic session was not required.

                        
STAFFING                On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the following staffing changes:

ADJOURN         On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 6:40 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
